On Deck with ESPN 1470

Tomorrow we (ESPN 1470) will be broadcasting a day baseball game at one. After the game I will be filling in for Brantley and the Babe til six before doing On Deck from 6-7. During the entire show I will be holding an on air auction for an autographed Scott Kazmir baseball. The bid will start at $100 with the proceeds going to benefit the Fisher house. The Fisher house is a house where the family of injured troops or veterans can stay while their loved one recovers while at the VA. Tomorrow will just be the beginning of a partnership between On Deck with ESPN 1470 and the Fisher house as we’re going to be soon starting a segment on the show called The Fisher house family of the week which will focus on families of our brave soldiers and or veterans who are receiving treatment at the James A. Haley veterans hospital in Tampa. On Deck with ESPN 1470 is a baseball show, but without the brave men and women who do and have served our great country we wouldn’t be able to enjoy the game and talk about it every week so it is an honor to do whatever we can to help those who do so much for us.

Ed Diaz couldn’t make it to the debut of the show’s new name On Deck with ESPN 1470 so Phlip Satchel from Satchel’s Corner sat in his chair for the show and Bill Freitas from the Killer B’s show joined Pat and Phlip for the last segment. The guys talked about the teams hot streak and what has made the 2008 Rays so much more successful than any of the Devil Rays teams of years passed. Welcome back for the first time!
